Here's a recipe for a simple and delicious fish fry:
Ingredients:
- 4-6 fish fillets (any type of fish will work, but tilapia, catfish, or cod are good choices)
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp of salt
- 1/2 tsp of black pepper
- 1/2 tsp of paprika
- 1/2 tsp of garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp of onion powder
- 1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup of milk
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper (if using).
In a separate bowl, whisk together the beaten egg and milk.
Dip each fish fillet in the egg mixture, then dredge it in the flour mixture, pressing the flour onto the fish to ensure it's well coated.
Heat enough vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat to cover the bottom of the pan by about 1/4 inch.
Carefully add the fish fillets to the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
Once the fish is cooked, remove it from the pan using a slotted spatula and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to remove excess oil.
Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce and sides.
Enjoy your crispy and flavorful fish fry!
